October 8 and we have 2 inches of really sticky snow on the ground. Our three beasts, are rolling in it and eating it. Haven't checked on the pigs yet, they can't be happy. The goats are huddled in their shelter unamused. The chickens are roosting very close together and talked to me a lot. I don't think they were saying nice things, even when I produced produce for breakfast.......It's early and we still have much winter prep to do. I think this is Mother Nature's kick in the ass for those who are behind and a hug for those who are not. Guess whose butt is sore?
I plan to share the anecdotes of my life starting a self sustaining life on 40 acres in Northern New Mexico with my family and friends.
